Teeth Whitening

A bright smile really makes a big difference to your face and those important first impressions.  While general care and attention to your teeth can help keep them their natural (a light gray-yellow) color, aging and surface stains from food and beverages such as coffee, colas, tea, red wine or berries can darken their appearance.  With this in mind, there are several whitening options available to you.

In office whitening

This procedure takes approximately an hour. A bleaching agent is applied to your teeth and the high intensity lights enhance the whitening process. Before whitening the teeth, you need an oral examination to check the cavities or other dental problems which need to be treated first. The advantage of in office whitening is that it is quick and convenient, and for some patients, it is effective. The disadvantages include sever sensitivities and ineffective for some stubborn stains.

At home whitening

We will fit you with a personalized whitening tray which you take home with a whitening kit.  In the whitening kit, there are syringes that filled with special formulated whitening gel which you will place in your tray over your teeth, and keeping it in place for period of time (2 hours to several hours, depending on the whitening gel products). You can wear the whitening trays overnight, or if you prefer, you can wear them as go about your day. Typically, you will begin to see results in two to three days.

During the process, we will monitor your progress, ensuring that your gums aren’t becoming irritated and your teeth are whitening as desired. It is normal if you experience some sensitivity and the mouth wash and the toothpaste in your kit will help it subsided shortly. When the process is complete, your smile will be noticeably whiter and brighter.

The advantages of at home whitening system are safe, effective most of the time and convenient. You also experience less sensitivity due to improved whitening gels.
